The CINNAMOW team organised an outreach activity within the IPMA Escolas program in which children from 6 to 12 years old will visit once a month the facilities of IPMA. The target of this activity is to make science more accessible to the public by showing children how is the job of a scientist.
In our case, we are showing how paleoceanographers and paleoclimatologists work. The students will learn how to infer the temperature of the ocean during the past.
They will be involved in the whole process from taking the sediment samples, to process them for microfossil analysis and even to identify warm and cold species of foraminifers.
We are very excited to spread our knowledge among the next generation of scientists!
